relationships

My life is so blessed with the thrill of relationships. These are just some of the great, colorful, and yet sometimes bazaar people who I love and have the privilege to do life with everyday.

img00128.jpgTimmy Straight stopped in my office just the other day dressed in a combo ensemble as a law enforcement official/prestigious political leader. Timmy has always been one man with many expressions…he can be redneck/country, pastor/evangelist, preppy/Banana Republic, and now as the “Long Arm of the Law” in West Feliciana Parish. As I think of Timmy, he reminds me of a man who has become “all things to all men”…that’s what I love about him! Timmy and his wife Neysa serve as our HPC Campus Pastors in St. Francisville. I am so excited to see all that is happening there; God is truly raising them up to be strong leaders in that community, people are coming to Christ and their lives are being changed. It is an honor to serve with them.

img00134.jpgEric Block had shoulder surgery (say that one ten times fast) yesterday and I had the opportunity to visit him as he was getting prepped for his procedure. It was just amazing to see all of the nurses waiting in line to have just a moment in Eric’s room—they were giggling and crushing on him like some grade school girls! I felt like I was trapped in an episode of the “Bachelor”, the girls couldn’t wait to see Eric, his strong shoulders, and his cute little hair net. Eric is such a dynamic guy, besides his dashing good looks, he has a heart to serve and he does so faithfully with our College and 20-Somethings at the Hub on Thursdays and in Life Groups.

Also, I had to post this precious picture of two people I adore, Alexa and T-Rev. All of the kids are doing great. Little man is growing like crazy…he has a tooth coming in right now, so this is a season of heavy drool.

My life just wouldn’t be the same without the incredible people I have the pleasure of doing life with!

A loaded weekend

trey.jpgThis weekend was packed full of moments worth highlighting. First of all, what a great night we had playing Bunco at the Annex for the College and 20-somethings 80’s night! Trey Prats was working the Lady Foot Locker shorts, showing off those legs…He won best dressed because he was so brave to wear those short shorts. I want to give a huge shout out to Melissa Gremillion and her whole team for planning and pulling off a great event. I wish I could have made it out that night, I heard that everyone had such a great time. I believe it was a huge win for us in creating relationships within the College and 20-Somethings at HPC.

img00121.jpgAlso, this Saturday, I turned 34 years old. Sunday at the annex, I had some fun with Elton Veals, who also celebrated his birthday on the 8th. We decided that because we lost an hour in Daylight Savings, and we only had 23 hours to celebrate our birthdays, we were going to make up for that hour lost sometime this week. We wanted to carry the celebration out as long as we could. Really, the way that I celebrated most of my birthday was vacuuming gallons of water out of our house. Water almost completely filled the bottom level of our house; it came from a leak in our faulty washing machine. We had our own personal Katrina in the Haman household this weekend…happy birthday to me!

We are getting a new washer today and we are getting all of the damage mended. It really has been a messy weekend. Despite the flood, I had a wonderful birthday, spending time with family and close friends. Thank you to all those who made me feel so special, it was a true gift to be surrounded by those that I love.

img00122.jpgimg00126.jpgAnother Haman Highlight was Alexa cutting her hair. She cut off ten inches, and donated her ponytail to “Locks of Love”. Alexa has always had such a heart of compassion for others, and I was so proud to see her do this. Doesn’t she look adorable with her new do! My girl is so pretty.

HPC Experience

badge-pages1.jpg

What a privilege we have this week! Wednesday evening 22 church leaders from 9 churches across the country descended on Baton Rouge, Louisiana for the HPC Experience. It is an opportunity for churches to visit Healing Place Church and experience total access to everything we do at HPC.

We are often asked how we do what we do and the heart behind The HPC Experience is to spend 3 days answering all those questions and more. Isn’t it incredible? God has not simply blessed us with incredible leadership and serving hearts throughout our church, but He is now empowering us to make an impact with churches all over the nation!

Praise God for allowing us to invest into others and build relationships that are advancing the kingdom!
