“I Have a Friend Who…Is Sick”

I Have a Friend Who…

This weekend in our series we will be discussing, “I Have a Friend Who…Is Sick”.  We will have an extended time of prayer and ministry to those who are sick or maybe representing their friends or family who are struggling through a sickness.  We believe in the healing power of the Savior and pray that many will receive hope and healing at each of our campuses this weekend.

Invite your friends and family to join us for this powerful time.  And be sure to check out the resources available online.  If you know someone who is sick that can’t make it to the services, we pray that through this weekend you will be equipped to minister to them in your own way.  Can’t wait for all that God has in store!

HPC Fall Leadership Retreat

David Latona, game show host, at Fall Leadership RetreatFall Leadership Retreat

These are just two snapshots of the amazing weekend we had with some of our HPC Leaders at a retreat last weekend in New Orleans.

Pastors Dino and Delynn joined us on Friday Night and shared such challenging word. The entire weekend was a HUGE win!  We had some incredible times of training and equipping, great time together to build and solidify relationships, and of course crazy fun!!  By the looks of Dave Latona in the picture above you can tell that our leaders are just a little radical!!  This reatreat really was a celebration of a tremendous year of leadership development.  I am so grateful for the men and women that invest thier lives serving the Kingdom through this house!!

Three Things I Am Fired Up About…

First, our new bible study series for Healing Place Men called, “Counter Culture for Men”.  Last week we kicked off the series and over 170 men were in attendance at all of the settings!  Check out this post from Pastor Dino for the full schedule.  This is going to be a slamming series…Men don’t miss out!!

Second, we baptized 50 people this weekend at our Highland Campus!  I love the opportunity we have to celebrate changed lives through water baptisms.  There is nothing I enjoy more than seeing men, women, students, and families experience victorious living and the thrill of “going public” with their faith!!

Third, our newest weekend series entitled, “I Have A Friend Who” started this weekend at all of our campuses.  There was an incredible response to the message!!  We pray that as we use God’s Word to bring light to difficult, hard-hitting issues in this series, many will find the help and freedom they so desperately seek.

I love doing life with my family at HPC; in every season there are fresh and exciting ways to experience the love of Christ.  Couldn’t imagine being anywhere else!!

Start of School and a Slamin Youth Camp

It’s been 3 weeks since my last post:  blog-sphere silence is totally unacceptable!  I’ve been so busy living life I haven’t had time to talk about it.

This week, I have been with Charles and Kristen Young, Youth Pastors at Bayside Community Church.  I have had the honor of speaking at their Summer Youth Camp, INVASION, for over 120 students.  I am so proud of this couple…feel like a proud father seeing these former Crosswalk at HPC legends serve the next generation with a crazy passion!  Each night we have had knock-down, drag-out, full-on youth camp services and packed altars.  I believe we are seeing Acts 2 coming alive in this generation!!

Back home, the Haman house is super excited about the launch of the new school year!  I love this time of year and all that comes with it…new uniforms, school supplies, fall weather (at some point), families coming to church together, Healing Place School of Ministry starts again, Men’s Bible Studies in full swing, and LSU football!  I am so grateful for the fantastic summer season we had, and I am looking forward with great expectation for a miraculous fall semester!!  I can’t wait for all that is in store.
